Brazilian buttock lift for plus sized clients is more complicated than in normal sized clients. Plus sized clients present with characteristics such as generous sized buttock cheeks. Interestingly, many plus sized clients perceive their buttock cheeks as larger than optimal and desire a buttock reduction instead of buttock augmentation. Universally, plus sized clients desiring a Brazilian buttock lift are desiring improvement in their buttock shape, termed buttock reshaping. Undesired buttock shape results from plus sized clients possessing significant soft tissue and skin redundancy. This is usually evident by generous sized lower back and flanks that create the illusion that the lateral upper buttock cheek is larger than desirable. In addition, the sheer volume of redundant skin tends to fall over the lower buttock cheek . As a result, the skin looks irregular, as characterized by lower buttock cellulite.
How is buttock reshaping accomplished?
The modification of the Brazilian buttock lift for plus sized clients includes not just fat transfer but actually buttock reshaping. Buttock reshaping is accomplished using two techniques. First, a lateral thigh and buttock tuck. Second, transfer of fat from the upper lateral region to the lower and central lower buttock region.
The lateral thigh and buttock tuck allows us to correct a longer than aesthetically optimal buttock height. Optimal proportions of the female back to buttock to upper legs is 45%: 20%:35%. A plus sized clients lengthened buttock height can compromise these proportions to as much as 35% which then lean down and shorten the upper leg height of only 20%. A lateral thigh and buttock tuck can reverse this ratio by shortening the buttock and lifting the redundant skin off of the upper legs. What is interesting about the Brazilian buttock lift for the plus sized clients is that the net size of the buttock cheeks does not change. In fact, the Brazilian buttock lift alters the shape drastically.
